Fawkham and Ash Archaeological Group (FAAG)

The discovery and excavation of a Late Iron-Age and Early Roman Farmstead at
Viewpoint, Wellfield, Hartley, Kent 1975/76 and 1984 TQ6084/6842

Acknowledgements and Diggers Attendance

We are greatly indebted to Mr Gordon Longhurst, Building Site Manager, and Mr Hicks, Building Manager for their interest and help through-out the period of excavation, and in particular for delaying the starting of the construction of Block 10 and for allowing the storage of tools and equipment in their compound.
Thanks also to all those volunteer diggers, members of the Fawkham & Ash Archaeological Group, Dartford District Archaeological Group, S.E. London Archaeological Group and the Lower Medway Archaeological Group. They often worked in atrocious winter weather. Thanks to FAAG members who carried out washing and processing of the finds. The following have contributed to the preparation of this archive: Roger Cockett, Pam & Ted Connell, Gerald & Gillian Cramp and Brian Tremain.
We would like to give a  special mention to the late Christopher St John Breen for his initial notes on the 1975/76 pottery.
Listed below are the names and dates of those individuals that helped.
