Gravestone of John BOURNE 1762.          Taken by Pam Connell July 2015

Here lieth the Body of John Bourne
late of Brenzett Who died 16th April
1762 Aged 67 Years After having
served the Office of Bailiff of Romney
Marsh Seven times. He had by Eliza
his first Wife 4 Children 3 of which
lie buried Near this Place Survieth and the
Other (Viz) John Bourne Surviveth
By Margaret his Surviving Widow
He had 11 Children Four of which
Also lie buried Near this place
The other 7 (Viz) James Mary
Margaret Martha Susannah Will
and Sarah Survive And Caused
this stone to be Erected.
