Ash next Ridley - Parish Information

Cray aforesaid to be the first master And if he refuses to accept thereof Then I do leave it to the Trustees or the major part of them to nominate and appoint a master as they shall think fitt But my will and mind is that if anyone of the name of Hodsoll belonging to the family of the Hodsolls of South Ash qualified for the same at any time or times hereafter when any vacancy happens requests and will accept thereof he and they shall be always nominated master before any other person whatsoever Also I give will and bequeath the last mentioned messuage or Tenement Farm Lands Hereditaments and premises at David Street aforesaid But subject to the payment of the last said Annuity unto my loving friend Thomas Sewton the present occupier thereof and to his Heirs Assigns forever Also I hereby give will and devise unto the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Parish of Ash aforesaid and to their successors forever One other Annuity or yearly rent charge of Fifty shillings a year of lawful money of Great Britain tax free 

and without any deductions for any manor of taxes whatsoever to be issuing and going out of and to be had received and taken yearly and every year out of and from all that my messuage and Tenement and farm called Ham And out all the barns stables yards gardens orchard lands and appurtenances thereunto belonging and situate standing lying and being in the said Parish of Meopham and now or late in the occupation of the said Nicholas Tisdall at and upon two of the most usual feast days or days of payment in the year (that is to say) Michaelmas Day Ladyday by equal payments And if shall happen that the yearly rent charge of Fifty shillings shall at any time or times hereafter be behind and unpaid in part or in all by the space of one and twenty days next over or after either of the said feast days aforesaid That then at all times after it shall and maybe lawful to and for the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said
