Abstract of will from Chelsfield proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury Geoffrey Copus.2005

Thomas Mace of Chelsfield dated 13 November 1647

Abstract of the will of Thomas Mace of Greenstead Greene in Chelsfield yeoman dated 13 November 1647.
   To be buried in Chelsfield churchyard.
   I give to my daughter Anne, wife of John Wakelyne, 40s.
   To my grandson John Wakelyne £10 at age 21.
   To my grand-daughters Anne, Joana and Mary Wakelyne £5 each at age 16.
   These grandchildren are to be each other’s heirs should any die under age.
   To Nicholas Mace, the son of Thomas Mace my godson 10s.
   All my goods are to be sold and my cousin Thomas Mace shall have the managing of the legacies given above, to make the most profit he can for the benefit of my said grandchildren.
   I appoint my grandsons Thomas and George Wakelyne as my Executors, and my loving kinsman Thomas to be Overseer and to have 20s.

Proved 28 September 1653 by Thomas and George Wakelyne the Executors named.
