Abstract of will from Chelsfield proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury Geoffrey Copus.2005

Thomas Skeggs of Chelsfield dated 14 December 1721

Abstract of the will of Thomas Skeggs of Chelsfield gentleman dated 14 December 1721.
   I give to my brother in law Robert Pattison £50.
   I give 10s. each to all menial servants who shall be in my service at the time of my death.
   I give to the poor of Chelsfield 40s. in bread, to be distributed by the Churchwardens.
   I give also to the poor of Chelsfield (such as do take no alms of the said parish) £3 to be distributed by the Minister and churchwardens.
   I give to the poor of the parishes of Cudham, Farnborough, Shoreham, Horton Kirby and Sutton at Hone 40s. to each parish, to be distributed by the Ministers and churchwardens.
   I give the residue of my estate both real and personal to my wife Sarah Skeggs and her heirs for ever, and she to be Executrix.
   Thomas Skeggs witnesses Samuel Cooper William Deane John Ellar John Tasker.
Proved 11 May 1722 by Sarah Skeggs widow the relict.      [PCC will PROB11/585]
