Abstract of will from Chelsfield proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury Geoffrey Copus.2005

William Whitehead of Chelsfield dated 28 June 1757

Abstract of the will of William Whitehead of Chelsfield husbandman dated 28 June 1757.
   I give to my son Henry Whitehead and his heirs for ever all that my messuage, tenement, barn and about 3 acres of land called Lark Street in Limpsfield, Surrey, subject to his paying the legacies mentioned hereafter.
   I also give to my son Henry Whitehead and his heirs for ever all my right and title to a messuage, tenement or farm consisting of a house, barn and four fields in Westerham, also subject to his paying the legacies.
   I give to my son John Whitehead one shilling.
   I give to my grandson William the son of William Whitehead £30 at age 21, for the payment of which I bind my premises in Westerham now in the possession of John Lightfoot.
   I give to my grandson Richard Whitehead the son of Henry Whitehead £10, and to his brothers Henry and William Whitehead £5 each, to be paid to them at age 21, for the payment of which I bind my premises called Lark Street.
   All residue both real and personal I give to my son Henry Whitehead after payment of debts and expenses, and I appoint him as my Executor.
   William X Whitehead witnesses Mary Whitehouse, Elizabeth Whitehouse, James Whitehouse.
Proved 22 May 1758 by Henry Whitehead the son.        [PCC will PROB 11/838]
