Prerogative Court of Canterbury (P.C.C.) Wills  (Pre 1858)

Thomas COX 1807

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me THOMAS COX the Younger Shipwright of the parish of Gillingham in the County of Kent made the Twenty fourth day of February one thousand Eight hundred and seven First I desire that all just Debts and Funeral Expenses be fully paid and satisfied And after the payment thereof I do give and bequeath unto my dear Wife MARY COX All wages due to me all Securities for money of whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever and all my household Goods and Furniture Plate Linen Also China with all my wearing apparel And all personal Estate and Real Estate And Estates both in possession and Reversion for her own sole use and benefit absolutely and I do hereby appoint the said MARY COX Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament revoking and making void all others In Witness I have Set my hand and Seal delivered and published as my last Will and Testament by the said Testator THOMAS COX in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses GEO. IN MEMORY OF
MR. THOMAS WILLIAMS, BLACKSMITH
WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE SUDDENLY JULY 13th 1794

AGED 37 YEARS
"Oh, Reader, stop and drop a tear,
Think on the corpse that slumbers here,
And when you read the fate of Mee,
Think on the glass that runs for Thee,
Grieve not for me my bosom Friend,
Christ will be your Husband & good Friend"
ALSO THOMAS COX Junr DIED THE 27th JANY 1807

AGED 44 YEARS
ALSO MARY WIFE OF THE LATE ROBERT TOW, GUNNER
AND FORMERLY WIFE OF THE ABOVE THOMAS WILLIAMS
AND THOMAS COX WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE THE 17th OF

NOVEMBER 1843 AGED 75 YEARS
SHE WAS A FRIEND OF THE FATHERLESS CHILDREN AND
WIDOWS AND DESERVEDLY RESPECTED BY MANT FRIENDS
SHE DIED IN PEACE
