The Rev Samuel Attwood died in
1735
Stamped by the Charity Commission, 4th March 1865
In the last will and testament of the Rev Samuel
Attwood, Late rector of the Parish of Ash, amongst other things
is contained the following:-
ALSO I give and bequeath unto the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor of the Parish of Ash next Wrotham
aforesaid in the said County of Kent and to their successors for
ever One annuity or yearly rent charge of Twenty pounds a year
of lawful money of Great Britain tax free and without any
deductions of any manner of taxes whatsoever to be issuing and
going out of and to be had received and taken yearly and every
year out of and from All that my messuage or Tenement or |

Farm and out of Barns Stables yards gardens
orchards lands and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate
standing lying and being at a certain place commonly called
David Street and near unto Horns Oake in the said Parish of
Meopham now in the occupation of the said Thomas Lenton and
containing altogether by estimation fifty Acres more or less
which I lately purchased of Henry Barrel Gent only surviving
Trustee of Paul Barstow Clerk deceased at and upon two of the
most usual feast days or days of payment in the year (that is to
say) Michaelmas and Ladyday by equal payments And if it shall
happen that the said Annuity or yearly rent charge of Twenty
pounds last mentioned shall at any time or times hereafter be
behind or unpaid in part or in all by the space of one |
