Abstract of the will of Ann Brooks of Chelsfield
widow dated 2 January 1826.
My debts are to be paid and my body is to be buried in a
plain and decent manner according to the directions I give to my two
daughters Ann Harding and Grace Carrington.
I give to my two said daughters all my wearing apparel
equally divided, and also £50 standing in my name in the Bromley
Savings Bank, equally divided, such share to be for each daughter's
separate use without being subject to the control of any husband.
All residue is to be divided equally among my six sons
Thomas, James, John, William, Robert and Edward Brooks equally.
I appoint my son Edward Brooks as my Executor.
Witnesses Thomas Fuller Waring, Henry Waring, Chelsfield
Codicil dated 21 July 1826.
Since the execution of my will it has become necessary to
transfer the money bequeathed to my daughters from the Bromley Savings
Bank to the public funds in the Bank of England. I confirm the bequest I
have made to my said daughters.
Witnesses Thomas Waring, Henry Waring.
Proved 2 July 1829 by Edward Brooks the son. [PCC will
