Abstract of the will of John Heath the
elder of Chelsfield tailor dated 27 July 1722.
I appoint my son George Heath as my Executor.
I give to my eldest son John Heath and his heirs my
messuage, tenement etc. and lands near a certain place called Welling in
East Wickham, now in the occupation of Philip Packman.
I give to my son George Heath and his heirs my messuage,
lands etc. near a certain place called Pauls Cray Hill in Pauls Cray,
now in the occupation of John Bigg.
I give also to him and his heirs my messuage or tenement
called Clapses in St. Mary Cay, now in the occupation of Widow Taylor,
also my cottage or tenement in St. Mary Cray now in the occupation of [
] Taylor, and my two cottages in Chelsfield now in my own occupation and
that of John Johnson.
I give to my son Edward Heath one shilling only, he having
been before provided for by me.
To my daughter Jane now the wife of Francis Hales £20.
To my grandchildren Jane the wife of Edward Fuller and
Elizabeth Heath, the daughter of my son John Heath, £10 each. If Jane
should die before me than I leave her £10 to her eldest child begotten
by Edward Fuller. I charge the premises given to my son George Heath
with the payment of these bequests.
I give all residue of personal estate to my son George.
