        1590
        Abstract of the will of William Mace of Goddington in
        Chelsfield husbandman dated 6 April [no year given].
           To be buried amongst the faithful.
           To the people assembled at my burial 20s. to be bestowed as
        shall seem good to my Executrix.
           To my son William Mace £30.
           To my two daughters Joan and Ann Mace £20 each.
           I leave to my wife Joan the residue of my goods together
        with my part of my farm and lease of Goddington with all the profits and
        appurtenances thereof which I wholly give to her, and I appoint her my
        Executrix.
           I desire my good friends John Wakelyn the elder and Joseph
        Powle to be Overseers of this will, and give them 6s.8d. each.

        Thomas X Mace.
        Proved 1 October 1620 by Joan Mace the relict.
