Abstract of the will of Frances Morland of Chelsfield
Court Lodge widow of George Morland late of the same place Esq. dated 20
November 1817.
I give to my only surviving brother Samuel Elvy the
interest arising from two £5 % City Bonds for life, the Bonds to remain
in the hands of my niece Elizabeth the wife of Robert Crawford of
Chelsfield Court Lodge Esq. her heirs etc. In Trust to pay the interest
to him by half yearly payments for life, and at his death I leave the
said Bonds to my niece Harriett Elizabeth the wife of John William
Colegate of Smarden, Kent, provided that the amount of the sum due as a
debt from her said husband and herself to my nephew John Smith shall be
first repaid to him from the money arising from the sale of the Bonds,
which it shall be lawful for my Executrix to make to the children of my
late sister Sarah Smith, viz Sarah, Frances, John and Stephen.
I give to the children of my late sister Susanna ….?....
viz Frances, Sarah, Susanna, John and Thomas, the three daughters of my
late brother Henry Elvy, viz Susanna, Elizabeth and Judith, to Frances
Alborn, sister of the said Harriett Elizabeth Colegate and to my niece
Sarah Loft three £5% City Bonds to be sold and the proceeds thereof to
be divided among my fourteen said nephews and nieces equally.
I give to my said niece Harriett Elizabeth Colegate my
clothes. I give to my said niece Sarah the daughter of my late sister
Sarah Smith wife of Mr. John Pratt Lemmoy [?] of Mores [?] Court,
Murston, Kent the ring which I have in remembrance of her mother. I give
to my said Niece Susanna the daughter of my late sister Susanna Chambers
the ring which I have in remembrance of her mother.
I appoint my niece Elizabeth the wife of Robert Crawford as
my Executrix.
