        1847
        Abstract of the will of Thomas Waring of Chelsfield
        Esquire dated 20 October 1847.
           I give all my messuage or tenement called Farningham Hill
        with the farm and lands thereto and all my lands and real estate in
        Farningham, and a parcel of about three quarters of an acre in Eynsford,
        to my friends the Rev. Henry Tasker clerk, Vicar of Soham,
        Cambridgeshire, John Alfred Edmeads of Northfleet Esq. and the Rev.
        Henry Rashleigh clerk of Horton Kirby on Trust to the following uses –
           To the use of my son William Waring for life, and after the
        determination of that estate by any means in his lifetime to the use of
        the said Trustees during his lifetime "in Trust to preserve the
        contigent uses and estates hereinafter limited from being defeated or
        destroyed" but to permit the said William Waring to receive the
        rents etc. for life.
           After his death, if he should leave more than one son who
        attains 21 years of age, to the use of his second son and the heirs male
        of his body lawfully issuing. If William should leave only one such son
        so surviving, then the estate is to go to him. If there are no sons,
        then to the use of all his daughters equally as tenants in common, and
        to the respective heirs of their bodies.
           There follow similarly worded provisions for succession in
        the event of the failure of such issue – full details not taken, but
        those named in case of a failure of direct male or female heirs are –
           My nephew Walter Waring, son of my brother Richard Waring:
        my nephew Edwin Nash, son of my sister Elizabeth Nash, widow: Thomas
        Nash his brother.
           Lengthy provisions follow regarding leases and the cutting
        down of timber – details not taken.
           I give to my son William Waring and his heirs for ever all
        other my messuages, lands and real estate, and also all my leasehold
        property, and I nominate him as my Executor.
           Thomas Waring witnesses John Hayward solicitor, Dartford
        Wm: Hills, Chelsfield.
        
        Codicil dated 20 October 1847.
           I give to each of my Trustees £100.
           Thomas Waring witnesses the same as to the will.
        
        Second codicil dated 3 January 1849.
           I give my Trustees £3000 on Trust, out of which they are
        to pay –
           £1000 to my grand-daughter Ann Wall Waring, the daughter
        of my son William, at age 21 or on marriage, whichever is sooner:
           £1000 to to my grandson William Fuller Waring, son of
        William Waring, at age 21:
           £1000 to my grand-daughter Emily Mary Waring, daughter of
        William Waring, at age 21 or on marriage, whichever is sooner.
           Thomas Waring witnesses Henry Chapman, Oakfield, Dartford
        John Hayward, solicitor, Dartford.
        
        Third codicil dated 10 December 1850.
           I give £1000 to my Trustees to pay to my grand-daughter
        Agnes Maria Waring, daughter of William Waring, at age 21 or on
        marriage, whichever is sooner.
           Thomas Waring witnesses Henry Richard Crowhurst Harriet
        Crockford.
           In the goods of Thomas Waring deceased 19 August 1851 –
        appeared personally Harriet Crockford of Chelsfield and deposed that
        Thomas Waring signed the third codicil to his will in her presence and
        that of the other witness named, Henry Richard Crowhurst. W. Robinson F.
        Hart Dyke.
        Will proved 20 August 1851 by William Waring the son.
