Meopham Local History Posters - from an exhibition held in 1995

21. Frederick & Frank Judson, Coalmerchants 1894-1985 To Poster

Poster contents:-

Frederick Judson was 18 in 1894 when he started work with sacks of coal and his pony and cart at the site alongside Meopham Station.

the business flourished and eventually covered Sole Street, Cobham, Luddesdown, Ridley, Ash and Longfield Hill as well as Meopham.

His elder son Frank joined him in the late nineteen twenties.

In 1949 Frederick Judson generously presented a large piece of land at the back of his house, Hilton Villa to the young people of Meopham.
