Poster contents

LEONARD RUSSELL, head of this large family was born in Ash in 1850 the third son of master butcher, WILLIAM RUSSELL.

Leonard became a successful business man. He described himself as a BUTCHER AND CATTLE DEALER.

Leonard's second son WILLIAM (always known as WILLIE) RUSSELL enlisted with the West Kent Ye

omanry in 1900 and went to South Africa during the Boer War.
