                         A William was rector of Stonore in 1293 (A.C., XXXII, 172)
In or before 1300. Walter .........
                    In or about this year 17 incumbents holding livings in the patronage of St. Austins were excommunicated by Archbishop
                           Winchelsea. 12 of them were arrested and incarcerated in Canterbury and the other 5 were returned as "non inventi." The
                           vicar of St. Lawrence was among the arrested, and rector of Stonar among the "non inventi." The King (Ed. III) intervened
                           and on Feb. 18, 1301 a royal writ required the Sheriff of Kent to release the imprisoned clergy on bail. At this time C.C.C.
                           was nearing the end of the long and fierce struggle with the Canons of St. Martins in Dover. (A.C., XXV, 98)
