Mr Meyers and took over from Miss Meyers when she got married to Mr Fletcher – asked for her wages to be increased to the maximum. The Managers agreed to recommend to the K.E.C. an increase of £5.
   1906 was a fairly busy year for the managers: on February 6th, they agreed to let the schoolroom to either political party at 10s 6d plus breakage and damage. Then follows on June 5th a decision to obtain an estimate from the Water Company to lay water onto the house and school. At the same meeting the Managers received notification that the assistant teacher’s salary is to be raised to the maximum, and the cleaner’s pay is to be brought in line with neighbouring schools.
   In June 1906 the L.E.A. and the Headmaster

received the following report:
   ‘The general conditions of this school were discussed fully with the Headmaster at the visit of the inspector. I find that the necessary changes in the order, the scheme of work and like organisations will have been affected when the school is again visited. The teacher of the lower school needs some help.’
What the L. E. A. and the Headmaster do not see is the second report, which reads:
   ‘Observations not to be communicated to the L.E.A. This will seam a rather curious report, but the circumstances are these; the school is in a seriously inefficient condition and has been, so I gather, for some time. I
