Ash next Ridley - Parish Information

W.I. History of Ash and Ridley from Earliest Records to 1957 - Page 80

Second World War continued

One very enthusiastic and energetic young worker during the war years was Pamela Lucas, only daughter of Mr A.R. Lucas J.P. and Mrs Lucas of Dairy House Farm, Hodsoll Street. She was a member of Ash Youth Club and when war broke out she was 10 years old.
She was quite a clever little singer and dancer and in May 1943 she, with her friend Kathleen French, presented a Musical Revue entitled "Sweet Moments". This was put on in Ash Parish Hall and Fairway Hall and the proceeds given to "Wings for Victory" week.

In 1944 she played some leading parts in a Revue entitled "Here’s to Happiness", devised and produced by Mr Bert Graham. This was performed in Ash Parish Hall and the proceeds went to "Salute the Soldier" week.
Pamela also played a part in "Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp".
